EURO 2016 ROUND-UP: TUESDAY

21 June 2016

Kyle Lafferty features as a second half substitute

NORTHERN Ireland will hope they've done enough to make the knock-out stages of Euro 2016 after being beaten 1-0 by world champions Germany in their final group game on Tuesday.

Although defeated by Mario Gomez's strike on the half-hour mark, a resilient performance still gives Michael O'Neill's side chance of progressing as one of the best third-place finishers.

An excellent victory over Ukraine in their second match of Group C may yet prove invaluable as it leaves them on three points, with results elsewhere now set to determine their fate.

City striker Kyle Lafferty came off the bench for Northern Ireland just before the hour-mark, earning his second appearance at the Finals in the process.
