Hoolahan crosses, Brady scores, Ireland progressROBBIE Brady was visibly overcome with emotion when reflecting on his match-winning goal for the Republic of Ireland against Italy at Euro 2016 on Wednesday night.
His late header, perfectly created by fellow City player Wes Hoolahan, sent the Irish into the last 16 of the competition, where they will face France.
Talking to reporters after the game, the 24-year-old said: "We've made history by getting through but now we'll go again.
"I don't know much about the goal; my body just started carrying my legs into the box. I trusted Wes to put it where I wanted it, and I managed to get my head on it.
"I'm over the moon. It's unbelievable, you only have to look around to see what it means to everybody, myself included.
"I've been waiting to play on this stage since I was a little kid. To go and do it with my family here is the best feeling in the world."
