15 March 2016

What are your memories of March 15?

STEEN Nedergaard scored one of the more memorable Carrow Road goals during a 2-0 win over Coventry City on March 15, 2003.

The fans' favourite slammed home a right-footed thunderbolt from distance to put the Canaries in front on 33 minutes, with what would prove to be the penultimate strike of the Dane's Norwich career.

Victory was confirmed in the final minute when fellow full-back Adam Drury notched a rare goal - one of four he would score in 361 appearances during an 11-year stay with the Club.

Those appearances came almost exclusively as part of the first XI, with the immensely popular former captain featuring as a substitute just four times throughout his entire time at Carrow Road.

City's first fixture to take place on this date came back in 1947, when they played out a 3-3 draw with Bristol Rovers at Carrow Road in Division Three South.

Such high-scoring affairs were a common occurrence for the Canaries throughout that season, with a total of 164 goals being scored at either end across their 42-game league campaign.

Norwich's most recent game to be played on March 15 was against Southampton in 2014, with Johan Elmander and Robert Snodgrass on target in a 4-2 defeat at St Mary's.

In total, City have played 15 games on this day, winning four, drawing four and losing seven.
