Canaries youngsters return to Carrow Road

NORWICH City's Under-21 side will play their first game back at Carrow Road this year when they entertain Manchester City on Friday, March 4 (7pm).

Earlier in the week, the Under-18s were beaten by the same opposition when the Citizens defeated Graeme Murty's side 2-0 in the FA Youth Cup quarter final.

Speaking exclusively to, Dmitri Halajko saw the positives from City's cup run.

He said: "Our guys have gotten over the disappointment so we’re hoping that we've learnt a lot from that, but we’ll only find that out over the course of these next four or five games.

"We'll have four or five from the Youth Cup side involved, with the next couple of days giving us a chance to properly train our group on match preparation in regards to how to stop them and what we need to do when we're in control."

Halajko's side are unbeaten in their last three matches at Carrow Road, a run which has yielded seven points with a 7-2 victory over Southampton the highlight.

City, who lost 5-0 to Chelsea at Aldershot's EBB Stadium in their last outing in February, will look to end a run of five games without a win when Manchester City travel to Norfolk.

"Man City are a very good technical side, with multi-million pound international players," he commented. "They'll look to dominate the ball but we want to stifle them and play our own way.

"Our run at the moment, with Chelsea, Man United and Spurs away with Man City at home, you couldn't pick four harder games."

Tickets are FREE of charge and Halajko is fully aware of the impact that a big home crowd has at Carrow Road, adding: "The players always love playing there thanks to the fans; it really makes it feel like a home game whenever we're there.

"It helps raise their levels, and we all know a home advantage helps us massively."

We will be joining the team on Friday night to provide coverage across our digital channels, with video highlights to follow on Norwich City TV.
