CITY TO TAKE PART IN UNDER-17 TOURNAMENT IN IPSWICH

4 May 2016

Two-day event takes place this weekend

NORWICH City will be represented at a four-team Under-17s tournament hosted by local rivals Ipswich Town at their Playford Road Training Centre this weekend.

The Canaries' youth team concluded their Barclays Under-18s Premier League campaign last Saturday with a 2-1 defeat at Derby County.

First-year scholars will be joined by players from younger age-groups to compete against Ipswich, Brentford and Liverpool over the two-day festival on Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7.

The tournament will consist of a group format of 45-minute matches, with an additional point for every goal scored. The top two finishing teams will then go head-to-head in the final to decide the winners.

City's first match is against Brentford at 6pm on Friday before they take on Ipswich at 7pm. Their final group game against Liverpool kicks off at 11am on Saturday, with the final (and third-place play-off) at 12.15pm.

Supporters are welcome to attend with directions to Ipswich's training ground available HERE, although there will be no parking available on-site.
