The latest squad news from ColneyALEX Neil has given more detail on the knee injury that will keep Jonny Howson out for the final two games of the season.
The midfielder hobbled off not long after Juan Mata had given Manchester United the lead at Carrow Road on Saturday, with Neil revealing straight after the game that he was to be without the consistent midfielder for the remaining matches against Watford and Everton.
He expanded to Norwich City TV on Tuesday: "Jonny has had a scan and he's got a grade two ligament strain which means he will be out for six to eight weeks.
"It's really disappointing for us and for him, because his performance levels over the course of the season have been consistently high.
"We've got guys who can replace him and fill in for Jonny and it'll be an opportunity for those to come in and stake a claim."
There was some positive news with regards to defender Ryan Bennett, however, who has missed City's last two matches.
"Ryan will be in the squad for the game," Neil revealed. "We've had to make do without Ryan for the past couple of games which has been disappointing which has limited us to the fact there wasn't a choice at centre back as we only had two players fit."
Joining Howson on the sidelines for Wednesday night's game will be Timm Klose, Andre Wisdom (both knee) and Alex Tettey (ankle), with the trio set to miss the remainder of the season.
