Midfielder reflects on Carrow Road defeat

GRAHAM Dorrans says Norwich City's players need to 'step up to the plate' following Saturday's 3-2 home reverse to Leeds United in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Canaries were beaten late on by Ronaldo Vieira's long-range strike, which ultimately consigned them to a third consecutive league defeat.

Speaking to Norwich City TV after the match, Dorrans conceded: "It's disappointing and we're in a bad position at the minute.

"We're in a fight and need to step up to the plate. I think we worked hard as a team but we seemed to throw it away somehow.

"We will assess it but we need to stick together. It's bitterly disappointing and we need to put it right."

Dorrans offered a simple analysis of City's current run, as he added: "We're not performing, and haven't done for a few weeks now.

"We're conceding too many goals at the minute. It's not good enough but it's not just the defence, it's the whole team.

"It's something we need to work on, and something we have spoken about. The fans are probably right to have a bit of a go at us.

"We've let ourselves down and everyone is bitterly disappointed. We've got a good squad here and need to put things right."
