City's youngsters dominate Everton in the Premier League Cup

NORWICH City's Under-23s secured a win in the Premier League Cup against Everton at Goodison Park.

City's youngsters claimed the first shot of the game, just nine minutes in when build-up on the left-hand side led to a ball into Diallang Jaiyesimi who hit high and wide.

Everton's first clear chance came as David Henen was slipped in by Kieran Dowell, but his strike was just wide of Ben Killip's goal after 18 minutes.

Henen was involved again in the 36th minute as his cross in from the right looked dangerous, but was put out for a corner by Ben Godfrey.

Todd Cantwell made space for himself on the right of the penalty area before smashing the ball and rattling the post just four minutes from the break.

Minutes later, City got the first goal of the game when Diallang Jaiyesimi passed to Louis McIntosh who found the back of the net with a powerful effort at the near post to send City into the break with the lead.

The Toffees came out of the break strong but the young Canaries defended well to maintain their lead.

City's lead was doubled when Jaiyesimi curled his shot into the far corner 63 minutes in.

The lead was extended again just two minutes later when Glenn Middleton poked home a corner at the near post.

With seven minutes left, Everton went a man down after Henen recieved his second yellow of the game.

Everton pulled one back after Calum Dyson steered his shot into the bottom corner.

Norwich instantly replied as Cantwell finished from close range to regain City's three goal lead.
