City's Swiss defender withdrawn at half-time
TIMM Klose was forced off early with an ankle injury during Switzerland's 2-1 World Cup qualifying Group B win in Andorra on Monday night. The central defender was replaced at half-time, with the visitors leading 1-0 thanks to Fabian Schar's opener.
Admir Mehmedi added a second 13 minutes from time, and although the hosts netted a late consolation Switzerland held on to maintain their 100% start to qualification after three matches.Â
Elsewhere, Martin Olsson was substituted just over an hour into the game as Sweden cruised to a 3-0 home triumph over Bulgaria in Group A.
Strikes before the interval from Ola Toivonen and Oscar Hiljemark gave the Swedes control, ahead of Victor Lindelof making it three; Olsson then being taken off with the game effectively already won.
