Under-18s suffer narrow defeat at Aston Villa

NORWICH City remain 8th in the U18s Premier League after losing 2-1 to Aston Villa away from home.

The hosts started the game on the front foot, with City's youngsters absorbing the pressure well.

An uneventful first-half saw the teams go into the break goalless.

The first goal of the game came 51 minutes in, when City skipper Owen Wallis netted to put his side a goal to the good.

The Villans swiftly replied when Jake Humphries scored just five minutes later assisted by Jake Doyle-Hayes.

Callum Ellesley saw red at a vital stage of the game, leaving City a man down with 13 minutes left.

The Lions took advantage of the situation and Humphries claimed his second of the game with just one minute to go.

The full-time whistle blew with City's Under-18s losing their second game in a row, and heading to second place Arsenal on October 29 (11:30am).
