City were the side to open up the scoring, when Louis McIntosh took advantage of a poor defensive display, before giving the ball to Benny Ashley-Seal who slotted it home just seven minutes in.
15 minutes in, Korrey Henry stole the ball from Bradley Catton, he then rode a follow-up challenge from Catton, before equalising for The Hammers.
12 minutes later, The Irons took the lead after Benjamin Johnson's wide free-kick reached Ben Wells, who squared the ball to captain Olatunji Akinola whose shot bounced off Fergal Hale-Brown and into the net.
On the brink of half-time Jahmal Hector-Ingram was brought down by Owen Wallis inside the box, allowing Henry to net his second of the game and put the visitors two goals ahead.
Just three minutes after the break, Emersson Mutuala-Sambu was penalised for holding Henry in the box, who stepped up to complete his hat-trick, and put West Ham 4-1 up.
In the 61st minute, Johnson played an impressive ball down the right to Henry, who lobbed a charging City 'keeper before Alfie Lewis poked the ball into an empty net, to extend The Hammers' lead.
City got a consolation goal with eight minutes left, when Devonte Aransibia gave the ball to McIntosh, who ran beyond the West Ham defense, and finished past Sam Howes.
