The latest squad news ahead of the weekend

ALEX Neil will make a late call on the fitness of defender Ivo Pinto for Norwich City's Sky Bet Championship game at Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday (3pm).

The Portuguese right-back was initially included in City's XI for last weekend's meeting with Preston, only to be replaced late on by Ryan Bennett.

"I wouldn't say he's fully recovered," Neil told on Friday morning.

"However, he's one we're looking at today to see if he's available for tomorrow."

Meanwhile, longer-term absentees Matt Jarvis (knee) and Youssouf Mulumbu (foot) are progressing in their respective recoveries.

"They're improving, both of them are on the grass now," the City boss added.

"Youssouf's just started getting out there and doing some running to get his fitness levels back up. That's certainly a positive, while Matt is continuing his rehab and has been doing fitness work for the best part of two weeks now.

"Obviously Jonny Howson (ankle) is going to be out. Steven Whittaker (stomach) is recovering and won't be far away, so that's about it."
