Sergi Canos on target for City's Development Squad

NORWICH's Under-23s came from behind to earn a 1-1 Premier League 2 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion at Crawley Town's stadium on Monday night.

Sergi Canos struck in the first half for the visitors, cancelling out Elvis Manu's earlier opener to ensure Dmitri Halajko's youngsters took a point from the contest.

City began the game brightly, with Carlton Morris going close on a couple of occasions before Canos shot wide after driving into the area.

However, the home side grew into the contest and went in front on 27 minutes when Manu converted George Cox's low cross.

The Canaries responded well; Diallang Jaiyesimi almost restoring parity within a matter of moments only to see his flicked effort flash wide of the post.

Better was to come on 37 minutes when the away side deservedly drew level through Canos as he met Todd Cantwell's corner to produce a smart finish which ensured the teams went into the break at 1-1.

Norwich had goalkeeper Ben Killip to thanks early in the second half when he denied Manu from close-range, ahead of Canos threatening twice in quick succession at the other end.

Both teams pushed for a winner, with Morris threatening once more with 20 minutes remaining when his fiercely-struck effort was blocked away to safety.

However, the match ultimately ended all-square with neither side able to make the telling breakthrough which would have secured victory.
