Defender scored winner in last meeting between the sides

MARTIN Olsson wants Norwich City to remain on the front foot when they travel to Newcastle United in the Sky Bet Championship on Wednesday night (7:45pm).

The Sweden international's return from an injury suffered on the opening day has coincided with a run of wins for the Canaries, with the defender having featured in each of the past three games.

He had a prominent role in City's latest success against Burton Albion at the weekend, scoring the opener during a fine individual performance which saw him later named as Man of the Match.

"After the Euros I maybe came back too quickly and felt my hamstring," Olsson told the media at Colney Training Centre on Tuesday afternoon.

"It was frustrating but I’m in good shape now. We’re enjoying our football and there’s a good vibe around the place.

"We have to keep that going. It’s a long season, which we’re prepared for, so we’ll take things one game at a time.

"Our focus is on Newcastle. They have Premier League quality but we want three points."

Olsson is relishing the prospect of lining up against one of the division's major forces, with United considered to be among the favourites for promotion.

"It’s going to be a big game," the left-back added.

"You want to play in the matches when there is pressure on. We’re aggressive and hungry for those points.

"We know if we work hard we can get the win. I think we’ve got a big chance."
