Several City players have received call-ups to their national teams as league football takes a rest during the upcoming international break.
Nelson Oliveira will be hoping to add to his 16 caps for Portugal when the European champions take on the Faroe Islands and Hungary in Group B of World Cup qualifying. They currently sit second behind Switzerland after six matches.
Wes Hoolahan's Republic of Ireland are also second in Group D, and they face Georgia before taking on table-toppers Serbia, who are level on points with Ireland. Hoolahan has made Martin O’Neill’s preliminary squad, with the final squad to be announced later this week.
Wales are four points behind Ireland in Group D, and will be desperate for wins over Austria and Moldova. Marley Watkins has been included in the squad and will be hoping to make his international debut.
Scotland, who have included Russell Martin and Steven Naismith in their squad, face two must-win games against Lithuania and Malta if they are to qualify from Group F.
Northern Ireland have had an excellent start to their qualifying campaign, and currently sit second behind world champions Germany. Michael McGovern will be hoping for clean sheets against San Marino and Czech Republic.
Away from World Cup qualifying, Angus Gunn has been called up by England Under-21 for their two 2019 European Under-21 Championships qualifiers against Netherlands and Malta.
