Loan round-up: Morris and Adams help Shrewsbury win

14 August 2017

Two young City stars played key roles as Shrewsbury Town maintained their unbeaten start to the season on Saturday.

Carlton Morris played the first 71 minutes as Salop beat AFC Wimbledon 1-0 at Kingsmeadow, with Ebou Adams coming on late in the game for an eight-minute cameo.

Alex Rodman scored the decisive goal just under ten minutes in. The result ensured Shrewsbury’s perfect start to their 2017-18 Sky Bet League One season.

Diallang Jaiyesimi came on for his Grimsby Town debut but couldn’t prevent them losing 2-0 at home to Coventry City.

The Mariners were already a goal down prior to Jaiyesimi’s introduction in the 72nd minute but Coventry doubled their lead through Jack Grimmer three minutes later to seal the win.

Meanwhile, Louis Ramsay clocked another 90 minutes as Woking went down 3-0 away to Barrow in the Vanarama National League.

Abdillahie Yussuf gave the home side the lead in the first half with Jordan White scoring twice in the second half in make sure of the three points.

Looking ahead, Joe Crowe could feature in Limerick’s first round FAI Cup match tomorrow evening against Cobh Ramblers – the team who the Canaries beat in their opening pre-season match in July.

Finally, Tristan Abrahams did not feature for Leyton Orient as they picked up a 2-0 victory over Maidstone United.
