Norwich City are likely to welcome Wes Hoolahan back into the fold for Saturday's Sky Bet Championship opener away to Fulham.
The Republic of Ireland international has missed the majority of City's warm-up games through injury, but has stepped up his return to fitness lately.
Speaking to the media on Thursday afternoon, Head Coach Daniel Farke said: "Wes can't play 90 minutes but will be in the squad.
"He can be an option for us from the bench. Ivo Pinto has trained this week after missing all of pre-season and we will make a decision on whether we take him to Fulham."
Farke faces other late calls over the status of Josh Murphy (calf) and Russell Martin (leg), with the pair's weekend inclusion yet to be confirmed.
"If Josh is able to train tomorrow he could be an option from the bench," he added.
"There will be one last test for Russell tomorrow too. He took a hit to his leg so didn't train today."
Harry Toffolo and Jamal Lewis remain unavailable, while Alex Pritchard (ankle) and Timm Klose (leg) are still in the early stages of recovery after suffering injuries against Cambridge United.
Steven Naismith is suspended following his red card on the penultimate day of last season, with Louis Thompson set to miss the majority of this season following surgery on his Achilles.
