Norwich City defender Christoph Zimmermann has signed a new three-and-half-year deal, keeping him at Carrow Road until 2021, with an option for a further year.
The former Borussia Dortmund II player arrived in England on a free transfer in the summer, and has quickly settled into life with the Canaries.
To date, the 24-year-old has made 24 appearances in all competitions for City, having made his debut on the opening day of the season at Fulham in August.
Speaking to Norwich City TV after signing his new deal, Zimmermann said: "I’m happy and I’m grateful for this.
"I’ve mentioned it before, but in the summer I was just happy to have the chance to come here and play for Norwich City. It’s the best thing that could have happened for me.
"I’m looking forward to having some more years here."
Head Coach Daniel Farke, who previously worked with the centre-back in Germany, added: "We are really happy with Christoph's performances.
"He came in as a young centre-back but has played many minutes. He's been really important and has helped us become a good team defensively.
"As a player, he gives everything on the pitch and has a great character. He's an intelligent guy and has adapted to Championship football very quickly."
