Under-23s aim to end year on high at Brighton

18 December 2017

Norwich City Under-23s face their last assignment of the calendar year this evening when they take on Brighton and Hove Albion (7pm kick-off).

Matt Gill's men visit the Stadium, home of Crawley Town, intent on building on last weekend's success against Middlesbrough.

Pierre Fonkeu's first-half strike was enough to see off the Premier League 2 Division 2 table-toppers last Sunday.

The result did not alter City's position in the league standings but it did put some breathing space between them and the bottom two.

Brighton, meanwhile, are currently sixth in the table and are unbeaten in their last six league matches.

City will be hoping for better than the last time they met the Seagulls. The south coast side ran out 2-1 winners at Colney back in August.
