City run riot against Forest

ALEX Neil says those inside Carrow Road witnessed some 'special' goals as Norwich City swept Nottingham Forest aside in Saturday's 5-1 win.

Jonny Howson's stunning volley set Neil's side on their way after just ten minutes, with Josh Murphy, Wes Hoolahan and Alex Pritchard contributing memorable strikes of their own.

They secured the Canaries' fifth home win in a row in stylish fashion, and Neil was effusive in his praise for his players when speaking to Norwich City TV post-match.

"I think there were some incredible goals in there and some really good performances," he said.

"It was entertaining. To see some of the goals you've seen in the first half, they were a bit special. There were a couple of goals in the second half that were great as well.

"We put out a team that was really offensive. We knew it was going to be a footballing game, and thankfully for me the guys at the top end of the pitch did exactly what they are capable of doing.

"I thought they performed great really. Everybody can be pleased with their day."

The result continued City's revival and their manager believes the Club are heading in the right direction following a bleak early winter.

They lie two points off the top and Neil added: "We can only deal with the here and now, and we can only improve what we're trying to do. I hope everybody can see that there's been a massive improvement.

"It takes a lot of things. It takes hard work, it takes honesty, it takes character.

"Credit to everybody involved in getting us where we are, everybody's done that so it's good."
