Canaries supporting the promotion of safe and positive use of digital technology for young people

NORWICH City are proud to be backing the Safer Internet Day 2017 initiative which takes place on Tuesday, February 7.

Safer Internet Day is celebrated globally in February each year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people, with this year's theme being 'Be the change: United for a better internet'.

Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre the celebration sees hundreds of organisations unite to raise awareness of online safety issues and run events and activities right across the UK.

As a result of collective action, Safer Internet Day 2016 reached 2.8 million UK children and 2.5 million UK parents.

By hearing about Safer Internet Day 2016, an evaluation found the majority of children spoke to their families about staying safe online while 87 per cent felt more confident about what to do about any worries online.

Football Clubs across the UK have been involved in Safer Internet Day over several years, and it is hoped that Safer Internet Day 2017 will achieve the biggest impact yet.
