Winger looks ahead to Brewers clashJACOB Murphy won't rest on his laurels during his breakthrough season at Norwich City, ahead of another crunch Sky Bet Championship clash at Burton Albion this weekend.
The 21-year-old has been a mainstay of the City side this term, having spent much of previous campaigns on loan to a variety of clubs as part of his development process.
"I've played a lot so far and I'm happy with my progress, which hopefully I can continue," Murphy told reporters at Colney Training Centre on Friday afternoon.
"I needed to get experience out on loan which has put me in good stead this season. I've been ready for it and always backed my ability to do a good shift for the team.
"We've got good competition and I've thrived on that as a young player. The manager spoke to me the other week and said he was going to drop me out for a couple of games, which helped me.
"With the strength in depth we've got in the squad it helps knowing there's someone else who can come in and do a job. Every day is a work day and you've always got to impress."
Murphy remains keen to give himself new challenges, and added: "The goal at the start was to play as many games as I could.
"I'm always setting new goals and trying to achieve them. I'm 22 next week so need to be playing first team football at a big club like Norwich.
"You've got to be pushing to cement a first team spot and I feel like I've been doing that this season. The mindset for us is to just keep winning as many games we can.
"We'll take each game as it comes, we've got a tough one tomorrow but it's all about getting three points. We're on an unbeaten run and have put our bad spell behind us now so hopefully we can keep that going."
