Three players in midweek action

REMI Matthews made three spot-kick saves in a penalty shoot-out for Hamilton Academical on Tuesday night as they secured their place in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals.

Facing a fifth round replay against Dunfermline Athletic following Saturday's draw, the game was level at after 120 minutes with Rakish Bingham's late penalty for Hamilton having initially forced extra-time.

Matthews went on to keep make a hat-trick of stops in the shoot-out as his side progressed 3-0 on penalties, setting up a tie away to Rangers in the last eight.

Fellow goalkeeper Declan Rudd was also in action for Charlton Athletic in the Sky Bet Championship as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at Oldham Athletic.

Ollie Banks' early goal settled the contest, leaving Charlton firmly rooted in midtable with 16 games left to play.

Elsewhere in the division, Harry Toffolo helped Scunthorpe United keep a clean sheet during their 0-0 home draw with Walsall.
The left-back played the full 90 minutes of a game short on clear-cut chances, with United failing to score for only the fifth time this term.

Meanwhile, Carlton Morris is yet to make his Rotherham United debut after completing a deadline day move due to currently being sidelined with a minor hamstring issue.
