The latest squad news ahead of Tuesday

ALEX Tettey comes back into the contention for Tuesday's visit of Newcastle United after serving his two-match suspension.

The midfielder missed the trip to Wigan Athletic and Saturday's thumping of Nottingham Forest after picking up his tenth yellow card of the campaign against Cardiff City.

Alex Neil told reporters on Monday: "Yes it is (a boost). We've picked up quite a few injuries in the same position, which is unusual. It's not been easy but we've managed to get through it."

City's boss revealed, however, that some of his players are struggling to prove their fitness ahead of the midweek clash with the Magpies, adding: "We've got quite a few bumps and bruises.

"We've got three or four players who have got knocks or niggles or who are recovering from stuff. There will be quite a few last-minute shouts on bodies for this game."

Steven Naismith has been sidelined for three matches with a hamstring injury, while Graham Dorrans hasn't played since Boxing Day when he damaged his knee against Reading.

James Maddison has a back injury while Louis Thompson is a long-term absentee after undergoing Achilles surgery in January.
