Neil keen to get back on the points trail

ALEX Neil is determined for his Norwich City team to do all it can to earn maximum points against Wolves on Saturday (3pm).

City suffered another Sky Bet Championship setback when they were beaten 2-1 by basement club Rotherham United last weekend.

In the wake of that result and their midweek Emirates FA Cup exit at Southampton, Neil wants a response when Paul Lambert's Wolves visit Carrow Road.

"It's an important game for everyone," he said. "We were hoping after the Derby performance that we would then kick on. Unfortunately getting a man sent off in the Rotherham game didn't help us.

"This is an opportunity now where we need to go and react and respond. The result is more important than the performance in this one.

"The performances at home have been good of late, in particular the Derby one which was excellent. We need to try and build on that."

Wolves have improved under Lambert's stewardship and Neil is expecting there to be no holding back from either team when it comes down to business.

He added: "He's brought an element of freshness to it. He's made changes in personnel too; certain players who were playing at the start of the season are now not playing.

"They're quite direct in their methods. They get the ball forward, they get it wide and into the box. They commit men forward.

"They've had a few high scoring games - it could be an open match. Hopefully we can score a few going forward and keep them out at the other end."
