The latest squad news ahead of Saturday

JONNY Howson looks set for a swift City return against Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend.

The midfielder came off in the first half against Rotherham United with a knock to his ankle, but Alex Neil revealed the midfielder has trained ahead of Saturday's game (3pm).

Neil said: "I think Jonny will be fine. He's joined in training, at the moment it looks as if he's on course to be ok for the game.

"It was a real worry because Jon generally doesn't come off in matches. The fact that he did was a concern, so to have him available certainly helps us."

Fellow central players Louis Thompson (pelvis), Graham Dorrans (knee) and Youssouf Mulumbu (international duty) are still out, while Alex Tettey is one yellow card away from a two-match suspension.

Nelson Oliveira is serving the second game of his ban but fellow frontman Cameron Jerome should be available after not travelling to Southampton in midweek.

Steven Whittaker (hamstring), however, will be assessed with Neil adding: "He'll be touch and go really, it will be one we'll have to monitor."

Also suffering with a hamstring problem is ex-Wolves winger Matt Jarvis, who City's boss ruled out for the match.
