Norwich City can confirm that Jacob Murphy has left the Club to join Newcastle United for an undisclosed fee.
Murphy, 22, joined the Canaries aged 11 in 2006. He was part of the City team which won the FA Youth Cup in 2013, and made his first-team debut for Norwich against Fulham in the FA Cup in January 2014.
He had spells on loan with Coventry, Colchester, Scunthorpe, Southend and Swindon before he enjoyed his breakthrough season with the Canaries last season, making 40 appearances and scoring 10 goals.
In total he made 42 appearances for Norwich’s first-team, and this year was called up by England Under-21 for the first time and helped them reach the semi-finals of the European Under-21 Championship.
Everyone at Norwich City would like to thank Jacob for his 11 years with the Club and wish him the very best for the future.
