Mario Vrančić says the rigours of Norwich City's pre-season schedule will have a visible impact when the team begin their 2017-18 Sky Bet Championship campaign.
After returning from a week-long training camp in Ireland on Friday, Daniel Farke's men faced Lowestoft Town on Saturday - just hours after a morning training session.
Vrančić himself struck for the second game running during a 5-1 victory for City, having also found the net against Cobh Ramblers earlier in the week.
Seeing the hard yards bring a direct return is always a positive according to the 28-year-old, who told canaries.co.uk: "It's always nice to score, it doesn't matter who the opponent is.
"We are working together in the training sessions. We're getting better and better and it's showing in the friendly games.
"It has been a very hard two weeks but that will help us for the season. This time is always hard but we will benefit from it.
"We need a mix of training and friendly games, so that's good for us.
