Norwich City Under-23s' first game of their pre-season tour saw them pick up a fine come-from-behind win over RW Oberhausen on Wednesday.
Goals from Todd Cantwell and Pierre Xavier Fonkeu ensured victory for the Development Squad, who had initially trailed to Can Serdar's header.
The Canaries began well in searing temperatures fresh off the back of several days of hard training, with Glenn Middleton among those to threaten early on.
However, the hosts grew into the contest with City goalkeeper Aston Oxborough making two fine saves - the first keeping out Marvin Lorch's stinging drive.
Despite Oxborough's efforts, it would be the home side who did eventually break the deadlock on 39 minutes when Serdar rose to head in from a corner.
Matt Gill's youngsters responded perfectly, going into the break level when they struck themselves moments later by breaking from an Oberhausen set-piece before Cantwell stroked home Middleton's cut-back.
They came close to going in front early in the second half, only for Middleton to see a lobbed attempt volleyed off the line with the goalkeeper stranded.
The game continued to be played at a tempo which belied the heat, Oxborough again making a fine save with his feet just past the hour-mark to keep the game at 1-1.
Only seconds later the true value of that save became clear, Fonkeu in the right place to volley a cross from the left into the net.
Max Aarons was similarly effective with 15 minutes remaining, albeit at the other end, heading off the line after Oxborough had been rounded.
Fresh legs introduced off the bench meant City continued to threaten at sporadic intervals for the rest of the contest, but it was the excellent Oxborough who saw them over the line with another superb stop in the closing stages.
Gill's side are back in the action for their second friendly of the tour when they line up against Eintracht Braunschweig on Friday afternoon.
