Norwich City’s Under-23s got off to a winning start with a 4-1 win over King’s Lynn at The Walks.
It was Matt Gill’s first game as manager of the Under-23s since his role was confirmed earlier this month, and his squad included three trialists alongside more familiar names.
King’s Lynn opened the scoring through Leon Mettan in the fifth minute from a direct free-kick, but Tony Andreu equalised midway through the first-half with a fine finish from 15 yards. Six minutes later the Canaries took the lead when Michee Efete, back from his loan spell with Icelandic Premier League side Breiðablik, headed home a Louis Ramsay cross.
Andreu completed the scoring with his second of the night shortly after the restart, finishing neatly after a one-two with Glenn Middleton.
The U23s squad will join the first-team squad on the week-long tour of Germany this Sunday, where they will face SC Rot-Weiß Oberhausen on Wednesday and Eintracht Braunschweig U23s on Friday.
