MARLEY Watkins is determined to make an impact on the international stage before he completes his summer switch to Carrow Road.
The Barnsley forward is set to link up with the Canaries from the start of July, but potential involvement for his national side precedes domestic duties.
Recently receiving a maiden call to Chris Coleman’s senior squad for a training camp, the 26-year-old is now targeting an appearance if included for the upcoming crucial World Cup Qualifier away to Serbia.
Speaking to BBC Wales Sport, Watkins said: “It’s been a long journey but I always told myself to never give up.
“No matter how hard it got, I wanted to aim as high as possible. I kept working hard and over time I feel it’s paid off.
“It will be a great experience to play with top players like Aaron Ramsey and that can only benefit your game. Hopefully I can become a regular part of it.”
Wales travel to Serbia to contest the Group D World Cup Qualifier on Sunday, June 11 (7:45pm).
