Full-back was Man of the Match against Ipswich Town

CITY defender Mitchell Dijks has enjoyed an impressive start to life in English football - pleasing no-one more than his manager Alex Neil.

Dijks joined the Canaries on the final day of the January transfer window, agreeing a loan deal from Dutch giants Ajax until the end of the campaign.

He has since endeared himself to the Club's fans with a series of swashbuckling displays after making his debut in the 1-0 win over Cardiff City last month.

The 24-year-old picked up the Anglian Home Improvements Man of the Match award for his performance in the East Anglian derby against Ipswich Town at the weekend.

Neil told reporters after Sunday's 1-1 draw at Carrow Road: "I think he’s equipped himself unbelievably well since he’s come here.

"Burton was probably the one where it was a game too much for him, but (against Ipswich) he equipped himself great.

"You can see how strong he is; he’s good on the ball, he can go past players and he’s physical."
