Our Under-23s are one win away from a cup finalGLENN Middleton says City's Under-23s must be ready to take their opportunity in Friday's Premier League International Cup semi-final.
The Canaries take on Sunderland at Carrow Road (7pm) for a place in the final against Portuguese outfit FC Porto, with tickets FREE for all supporters.
Middleton has admitted his excitement as he and his teammates look to continue their excellent form in knockout competition this season.
"It's the semi-final and you really want to be in the final. We're only one game away, so hopefully we can win and get there," he said.
"We've played them a bit in the past and we know that, on our day, we can go out and beat anyone.
"It might be a bit slow to start with as both teams try to break eachother down. At the same time, when you get that chance and you see your opportunity to go forward, you've got to take it."
2,526 supporters watched City thrash Dinamo Zagreb 6-0 in the quarter-final and the winger is hopeful that fans will back them once again on Friday night.
"It makes a huge difference," he added. "You want to go out there and impress them, and you up it that little bit more. You want to show them how good you really are."
Middleton has recently returned from international duty with Scotland's Under-17s, who he helped qualify for this summer's European Championship.
The 17-year-old, who signed his first professional contract at the turn of the year, lauded the benefits of the experience after netting four times in their three qualifiers.
He told canaries.co.uk: "It's been good. I think we showed how good we are as a team.
"Playing up in the Under-23s has helped me a lot, making me able to go away there and show my experience. When we can all come together as a team like that, we all get better and we benefit from it."
