Naismith finds the net but Scotland only draw

STEVEN Naismith was on the scoresheet for Scotland in Wednesday's 1-1 friendly draw with Canada.

City's frontman poked Gordon Strachan's side level after Falkirk's Fraser Aird had given the visitors an early advantage at Easter Road.

Naismith was withdrawn just after the hour mark, while Canaries captain Russell Martin was an unused substitute. Scotland face Slovenia in a World Cup qualifier on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, their Under-17s booked their spot at this summer's European Championship after a penalty from Glenn Middleton earned them a 1-0 victory over Switzerland.

Under-23s winger Middleton took his goal tally to four in just three matches as the Scots progressed to their fourth consecutive finals.
