LOAN ROUND-UP: RUDD AND TOFFOLO GO HEAD-TO-HEAD

9 March 2017

Midweek action from the Football League

TWO Norwich City Academy graduates went head-to-head on Tuesday night as Charlton Athletic played host to Scunthorpe United in Sky Bet League One.

Goalkeeper Declan Rudd, representing Charlton, got the better of United left-back Harry Toffolo as a last minute penalty gave the Addicks a 2-1 win at The Valley.

Johnnie Jackson's first half volley put the home side in front, before Kevin van Veen levelled for Scunthorpe 15 minutes from time.

With the game looking set for a draw, Charlton were awarded an injury-time spot-kick which Tony Watt converted to secure a late victory for his team.

Both City players completed the full 90 minutes, with the result further damaging Scunthorpe's automatic promotion hopes while lifting Charlton up to 14th.

Another Canaries Academy graduate, Carlton Morris, joined Sky Bet Championship outfit Rotherham United on transfer deadline day but has seen his debut delayed by a hamstring issue.

The 21-year-old is set to link up with the Millers shortly, two second half goals seeing them fall to a 2-0 home defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion in his absence.
