Defeat for Young Canaries on Ray Grant's return.
NORWICH City's Under-23s were defeated by West Bromwich Albion on Monday as midfielder Ray Grant returned to the side after being recalled from his loan stint at Dagenham and Redbridge.
Diallang Jaiyesimi almost broke the deadlock after 12 minutes with a powerful effort from 25 yards but the ball struck the post and the Baggies cleared the danger.
The hosts opened the scoring after Callum Morton slotted beyond Jake Hallett 19 minutes in before City striker Benny Ashley-Seal responded nine minutes later to bring City back level.
With the remainder of the half goalless, there was nothing to split the sides going into the break and they continued to fight for the advantage for most of the second half.
The Baggies took the lead for a second time, however, when they were awarded a penalty five minutes from time.
The spot kick was neatly put past City stopper Hallett by Alex Bradley in the 85th minute, and the late Baggies goal secured all three Premier League 2 points for the hosts.
