The latest squad news ahead of Saturday's game

NORWICH City will be without Wes Hoolahan for Saturday's trip to Aston Villa.

The experienced playmaker is sidelined for the game at Villa Park with the thigh injury that ruled him out of international duty with the Republic of Ireland.

Alan Irvine told Norwich City TV on Friday: "Wes won't be fit. I expect him to start training with the rest of the squad on Monday.

"While it's a big disappointment to lose him, it's important we don't rush him back and we have plenty of options."

Youssouf Mulumbu is nearing a return to action after nearly seven weeks out with a thigh injury of his own and Irvine confirmed City's internationals have returned to Colney without any issues.

"Everyone's ok, which I'm really pleased about," he added. "Jacob (Murphy) came off early in the second game with the Under-21s but he's absolutely fine and he's trained with us since he came back."

Mitchell Dijks, however, will serve the second game of his three-match suspension while Louis Thompson is a long-term absentee after undergoing Achilles surgery in January.
