Loan round-up: Andreu's Dundee Utd make play-off progress

15 May 2017

TONY Andreu's Dundee United edged closer to a potential promotion by completing a comfortable play-off win over Greenock Morton on Friday.

Andreu came through 90 minutes as the Tangerines - currently in the Scottish Championship - eased to a 3-0 second leg victory at Tannadice, progressing with an aggregate score of 5-1.

Ray McKinnon's men will now face Falkirk in a two-legged semi-final starting on Tuesday, with the winner of that tie set to go head-to-head with the 11th-placed team in the Scottish Premiership for a place in the top tier.

Andreu and Dundee United could end up meeting Remi Matthews' Hamilton Academical, who dropped into that relegation play-off spot following Saturday's 1-0 loss to Motherwell.

Louis Moult's header beat Matthews at New Douglas Park and proved enough to lift 'Well above their hosts in the table, with Hamilton now facing a vital clash with Ross County on Tuesday night.

Michee Efete made his Breidablik debut on Sunday after joining the Icelandic outfit on loan on Friday, conceding a penalty in their 3-1 defeat to Stjarnan.
