Young Canaries end season with victory on Merseyside
NORWICH City's Under-18s rounded off their 2016-17 campaign with a fine 2-1 win away to their Everton counterparts on Sunday.David Wright's youngsters went in front through a superb Agust Hlynsson strike midway through the first half, the Icelandic midfielder finding the top-corner from 35 yards.
Their advantage was deservedly doubled with the interval looming after a prolonged spell of pressure, Toffees player Con Ouzounidis inadvertently diverting Alan Fleming's cross into his own net.
Everton rallied in the second period and pulled one back on the hour-mark when Manasse Mampala fired beyond City goalkeeper Ryan Dickerson.
The hosts pushed for a leveller as the game wore on, but a determined defensive effort from the Canaries kept their opponents out and ensured they ended their season with three points at Finch Farm.
