Hoolahan earns Ireland call

15 May 2017

WES Hoolahan has been included in Republic of Ireland's squad for their three upcoming internationals.

Martin O'Neill's side get together for a three-day training camp at the end of the month before they fly to New York for their friendly with Mexico on June 1 (1am, June 2 UK time).

The squad will return to Irish shores ahead of a friendly against Uruguay at the Aviva Stadium on June 4 (7pm), with the same venue hosting their 2018 World Cup qualifier against Austria on June 11 (5pm).

They are currently occupying second place in Group D but are level on points with leaders Serbia, with opponents Austria four points back.

Hoolahan, who turns 35 later this month, missed the 0-0 draw with Wales in March due to a thigh injury. He last featured for his country in their away game against Austria in November.

He made 33 appearances for the Canaries last season, scoring twice in the final game of the campaign against Queens Park Rangers after being presented with the Club's Player of the Season award prior to kick-off.
