27 November 2017

Torquay United made it back-to-back National League wins on Saturday with a 3-0 success over Leyton Orient.

Josh McQuoid, Luke Young and Jamie Reid were all on target as United closed the gap on Orient - who are just above the relegation-zone - to four points.

Defender Michee Efete played the full match for Torquay, whose next game sees them face Aldershot Town at home.

In the same division, Louis Ramsay completed his return from injury by featuring as a substitute as Woking suffered a 2-1 reverse at Boreham Wood.

Tom Champion opened the scoring for the hosts midway through the first half, with Ramsay introduced off the bench in the 66th minute.

With eight minutes remaining, Bruno Andrade doubled Boreham Wood's lead ahead of Inih Effiong netting a consolation late on for the away side.

In Sky Bet League One, Harry Toffolo was an unused substitute as Doncaster Rovers earned a 2-1 win at home to MK Dons.

Rovers had trailed to Chuks Aneke's early strike, but second half goals from John Marquis and Matty Blair turned the game on its head.

Shrewsbury Town, meanwhile, fell to a 1-0 home defeat to Bradford City with Aristote Nsiala's 55th minute own-goal settling the contest.

Ben Godfrey started the match, being replaced in the 73rd minute by fellow Canaries player Carlton Morris as Shrewsbury chased an equaliser.

Ebou Adams was an unused substitute for the hosts, with their loss seeing Wigan Athletic overtake them at the top of the diivision.

At the other end of the table, Plymouth Argyle dropped to bottom spot after losing 1-0 at Portsmouth.

Kai Naismith's first half goal proved enough to give Portsmouth all three points in a game which Remi Matthews completed 90 minutes for Plymouth.

In Sky Bet League Two, Lincoln City returned to winning ways as they defeated Port Vale 3-1 at Sincil Bank.

Matt Green put the hosts in front early on, only for Danny Pugh to level on the stroke of half-time.

Lincoln resumed control after the break however, with goals from Michael Bostwick and Luke Waterfall securing the win.

Defender Sean Raggett played the full match for The Imps, who moved up to 10th and now sit just two points outside the play-offs.

Elsewhere, Diallang Jaiyesimi started for Grimsby Town once more as they won 2-0 at ten-man Barnet.

Jamille Matt put Grimsby in front after six minutes, before Barnet's Dwight Pascal was dismissed early in the second half on his debut.

Jaiyesimi was withdrawn on 70 minutes, with Sam Jones completing the scoring shortly after.

In the Isthmian Football League North Division, Callum Ellesley played 90 minutes as Cheshunt won 2-1 against Aveley while Henry Pollock was an unused substitute for Norwich United's 1-1 draw with Hertford Town.
