Loan Round-Up: Morris nets in Shrews win

2 October 2017

Carlton Morris struck for Shrewsbury Town on Saturday as they extended their magnificent start to the Sky Bet League One season with victory over Scunthorpe United.

The Shrews went in front midway through the first half when Stefan Payne netted, before Morris came off the bench in the second period to wrap up a 2-0 win - their ninth in eleven games.

Ben Godfrey played the full match for the hosts, who have amassed a mammoth 29 points from the opening two months of the season.

Fellow Canary Ebou Adams was an unused substitute for Shrewsbury, with their next league game taking them to Walsall.

Elsewhere, Harry Toffolo played 69 minutes as Doncaster Rovers fell to a 2-0 defeat at Bradford City.

First half strikes from Charlie Wyke and Nat Knight-Percival settled the contest, with Doncaster dropping down to 19th.

In Sky Bet League Two, Sean Raggett helped Lincoln City to a 0-0 draw in their derby meeting at Grimsby Town - with Diallang Jaiyesimi coming off the bench late on for the home side.

A tier further down, Michee Efete's Torquay United suffered a crushing late blow as they were beaten 1-0 at Dagenham & Redbridge courtesy of a last-minute Fejiri Okenabirhie penalty.

Efete was an unused substitute for the National League fixture, while Louis Ramsay missed Woking's 1-1 draw with Hartlepool United through injury.

More locally, Henry Pollock provided an assist as Norwich United won 3-1 away to Bowers & Pitsea in the Isthmian Football League North Division.

Finally, Joe Crowe was an unused substitute as Limerick went down to a 1-0 defeat at Cork City in the Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup semi-final on Friday.
