Norwich City youngster Diallang Jaiyesimi netted the first goal of his professional career on Tuesday night, scoring for Grimsby Town against Scunthorpe United.
The 19-year-old struck in the 32nd minute to put Grimsby ahead in the Checkatrade Trophy Northern Section Group H match.
Collecting the ball from former City Academy player Sam Kelly, Jaiyesimi displayed composure to open his Mariners account with a composed finish.
However, two goals from United's Tom Hopper turned the tie as Scunthorpe secured a 2-1 victory.
In the same group, Harry Toffolo featured for just over an hour as Doncaster Rovers edged to a 1-0 success over Sunderland Under-21s.
Issam Ben Khemis scored the games only goal shortly after Toffolo had been replaced by Morgan James, with Rovers' tally of five points enough for them to progress with a game to spare.
