Doncaster Rovers fought from behind on Saturday to thrash Southend United 4-1 in Sky Bet League One.
Harry Toffolo played the full 90 minutes at the Keepmoat Stadium, helping Rovers pull clear of the relegation zone.
Southend took the lead in the first half through Anthony Wordsworth before Doncaster responded with a sensational 12-minute spell in which they scored four times, including a quickfire hat-trick from Ben Whiteman.
Elsewhere in the same division, Shrewsbury Town continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 1-1 draw at Walsall.
It’s been a hugely impressive beginning to the campaign for Paul Hurst’s men and City’s youngsters have been a key part of the side’s early season success.
Walsall took the lead after 13 minutes when Dan Agyei netted with a long-range strike before Stefan Payne equalised from the penalty spot moments later.
Neither side could find the winning goal in a match where Ben Godfrey played 90 minutes, Carlton Morris featured for the final 15 minutes and Ebou Adams was unused from the substitute’s bench.
In Sky Bet League Two, Sean Raggett once again played a vital role as Lincoln City stretched their unbeaten run to three games with a 2-1 victory over Chesterfield at Sincil Bank.
Michael Bostwick and an Andrew Kellett own goal gave City a two-goal lead heading into the break and they managed to defend their advantage in the second half, despite a late goal from Kristian Dennis threatening to ruin Lincoln’s day.
Lincoln’s local rivals Grimsby Town came from a goal down to beat struggling Port Vale in the same division with Diallang Jaiyesimi an unused substitute.
In the Vanarama National League, Michee Efete was also an unused substitute as Torquay United continued their early season struggles with a 2-0 defeat at home to Dover Athletic.
However, it’s a different story for Woking at the moment as they won 1-0 at home to Dagenham and Redbridge to go within a point of league leaders Macclesfield.
Louis Ramsay did not feature for the Cards though as he is recovering from an ankle ligament injury.
In the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division, Joe Crowe played the final 27 minutes as Limerick scored a late equaliser to draw 2-2 with St. Patrick’s Athletic on Saturday.
In non-league, Callum Ellesley scored his first goal for Cheshunt as they beat Herne Bay 3-0 and Henry Pollock played the full match as Norwich United lost 4-3 to Grays Athletic, both in the FA Trophy.
