Matt Gill says his side is building a strong understanding of how to play together as they prepare for their next Premier League 2 fixture.
The U23s take on Southampton at Carrow Road on Friday evening (7pm) and after bringing in four new players over the summer, Gill says his group is starting to gel.
“We’re a pretty close-knit group now,” he said. “I’ve worked with the same group of players for some time now and they’re getting a really good understanding.
“We’ve played a couple of formations, trying people in different slots and they lads are now getting to know each other’s individual games and starting to show what they can do.”
Gill’s side are unbeaten in their last five matches in the league but have drawn their last four and the Head Coach is hoping his team can start adding the finishing touches to their game.
“We’re doing the right things but obviously I’ve spoken about the need to be more ruthless in front of goal so we’ve had a couple of days working on that,” Gill continued.
“If we can take the play from between both boxes to Friday that’ll be great and then hopefully we can try to finish a few of them opportunities off.
“Some people would say we haven’t won for four games but I’m always trying to keep any run going. The next game is very important and if we win that, the run looks a lot better. That’s what we’ve got to be aiming for.
“Friday night is a good opportunity to be unbeaten in six. I think we’re very close and we just need to make sure we’re nailing the details that are going to get us over the line and get us three points.”
Entry to Friday's game is FREE to all supporters, with the ticket office open until kick-off on the day of the game. Alternatively, you can purchase tickets HERE.
