Daniel Farke says Sheffield United’s fast start to life back in the Sky Bet Championship means his side will face a tough test on Saturday.
The Blades were crowned champions of Sky Bet League One last year and have carried their momentum into this season, currently lying third in the league table.
Speaking at Friday’s pre-match press conference, Farke said: “It will be a hard test tomorrow because Sheffield United have had a good start and are in good shape and have won their last four league games. It will be a hard test but we’re looking forward to it.
“Sheffield United play with a high intensity, aggressiveness and a big togetherness. We prepare our players in tactical terms but we have to be awake, aware and aggressive too. We know we are good in possession and at technical things but we have to win the one against one duels and second balls.
“It always up to the players to prove they can do this and I trust them to do it tomorrow.”
Farke believes a positive result at Bramall Lane will be another step in their progression under his new regime.
“We were a little sad after the Burton game because it was a chance for a big step,” he continued. “We would have had six points out of two games.
“But when you watch the situation six days before, it was a really difficult situation after the Millwall game. We were 22nd in the table.
“But we had two games [against Birmingham and Burton] and got four points and two clean sheets. We’ve improved our position in the table as we are now 14th.
“We all know it’s a big chance tomorrow because we could stay unbeaten. It’s a big opportunity to climb up the table. It could be three games in a row unbeaten and that would be an important step.”
