Daniel Farke: Bristol City's form shows it will be tough

22 September 2017

Daniel Farke believes the form of his side’s next opponents, Bristol City, shows just how tough a test his team will face on Saturday.

Lee Johnson’s men made it eight games unbeaten in all competitions on Tuesday when they beat Stoke City 2-0 in the Carabao Cup, joining the Canaries in the fourth round.

Farke is well aware of the Robins’ form but said his side are looking forward to the challenge.

“It’s a big task but it will be a great challenge,” he said, speaking to the local media at his pre-match press conference. “We had a brilliant last week with really good results in the league and cup as well but the same goes for Bristol City.

“They’ve only had one defeat in their last eight games and they’re on fire at the moment. But we are too.

“It will be a game with two teams full of confidence and momentum right now. It will be a hard test because when you have such a game in such a moment, normally it’s a little easier for the away team. They’ve had good results and there may not be as much pressure on them so they can sit a little deeper and see what happens.

“It’s normally more difficult and complicated for the home team because there can be more pressure on us to get the result.

Farke also called on the home support to turn Carrow Road into a fortress and he hopes his team can deliver a victory for them.

“Our home must be our living room and our fortress," he added. "The atmosphere improves from game to game and also in the away games, the support was brilliant at the Tuesday match.

“We’re looking forward to having this home game because we feel good at home. We want to make it a fortress and play in a good atmosphere with lots of noise.

“We can’t wait to stand together with our fans. It’s important for us. Football is for the fans and we always have that in our minds – we play for our fans.”
