Loan round-up: Shrewsbury Town extend unbeaten run

28 September 2017

Shrewsbury Town maintained their remarkable start to the Sky Bet League One season after Arthur Gnahoua's injury-time winner helped them beat Doncaster Rovers 2-1 on Tuesday.

After Joe Riley’s goal was swiftly cancelled out by Tommy Rowe in the first half, Shrewsbury pounced with virtually the last kick of the match to extend their unbeaten start to the league campaign.

Carlton Morris played the full 90 minutes with Ben Godfrey playing the final 23 minutes. Ebou Adams was an unused substitute at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Harry Toffolo, currently on loan with Doncaster, came on for the last 12 minutes of the fixture.

In Sky Bet League Two, Diallang Jaiyesimi played the final 20 minutes as Grimsby Town clawed a goal back late on to draw 2-2 at home to Colchester United.

Colchester led 2-1 right until the 89th minute when Grimsby were awarded a penalty and Sam Jones stepped up to clinch a point for the Mariners.

Next up for Jaiyesimi and Grimsby is the visit of fierce rivals Lincoln City and defender Sean Raggett helped the Imps ensure they'll head into it on a high after a 2-1 victory over Barnet at Sincil Bank on Tuesday.

Raggett played the full 90 minutes as Lincoln took a two-goal lead in the first half thanks to goals from Ollie Palmer and Harry Anderson.

Shaquille Coulthirst pulled a goal back for Barnet on the hour mark but Lincoln did just enough to claim the three points.

In the National League, Torquay United are still searching for their first win of the season after they were beaten 1-0 at home to Macclesfield Town on Tuesday.

Michee Efete played 90 minutes for the National League’s basement club with Scott Wilson’s second half strike proving the difference.
