Savvas Mourgos says he is settling into life well in Norfolk and is looking forward to tonight’s Premier League 2 clash with Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.
Mourgos, 19, joined the Canaries from Arsenal in August, and has made an immediate impact on the U23s team.
He came on for a cameo display in the win over Stoke City in Premier League 2 before scoring his first goal against Lowestoft Town last week - a belter from 25-yards that flew into the top corner.
“I played for about 15 minutes against Stoke City and it was great to play at Carrow Road,” he said. “There was quite a few people there which was really good for us. It helped us get the win.
“It was great to get 90 minutes on Tuesday [against Lowestoft]. It was quite a physical game because it was their first team but I think we did very well.
“I was waiting for Pierre [Fonkeu] or Tristan [Abrahams] to move but I didn’t see their movement so I thought I would have a shot and luckily it went in the top corner. It’s good for me to score on my first start.”
Mourgos and City take on Newcastle on Monday evening, looking to earn consecutive victories in the league.
With the game being streamed live, it provides extra incentive for City’s youngsters to show what they’re all about.
“We’re looking forward to the Newcastle game. It will be a great occasion for the boys and hopefully we can get a good result.”
For City fans in the area wishing to to attend the game, tickets are priced at £3 for adults and £1 for concessions and can be purchased from St. James' Park.
