Norwich City Under-18s registered their first victory of the season with a fine 3-1 win away to Aston Villa on Saturday.
After a difficult opening to the season, the result was very welcome and fully deserved.
Ireland U17 international striker Adam Idah gave City a great start when he opened the scoring in the 20th minute, and he was on target again in the 54th minute when he doubled City’s lead.
Villa midfielder Mason Birch reduced the deficit in the 69th minute but the setback only served to wake City up again and the influential Anthony Spyrou – who had assisted both of Idah’s goals – made the game safe in the 76th minute to earn City the win.
Up next for David Wright’s U18s is a home game against Southampton on Saturday September 23.
